In The Rift
Created in the Fall of 2015 at Wake Forest University, this work was also shown as part of an evening of work at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage. The project was supported by IPLACe and with a grant from The Provost's Fund For Academic Excellence, both from Wake Forest. Choreography by Jessie Laurita-Spanglet in collaboration with Lauren Boures, Rachel Bradley, Caroline Citarella, Addie Folk, Brianna Hill, Courtney Ineson, Sidney Ray, Ariana Sheeks, Desirae Starnes, Zhijun Wang. Original musical composition by David Schulman, costumes by Alice Barsony, lighting design by Jonathan Christman.
Originally developed in 2014, Molting has been performed at the New Releases Showcase at Dance Place in DC; at the Spring Salon at Dance Exchange in Takoma Park, MD; as part of DanceFest hosted by Lindsey Kelly Dance in Asheville, NC; as part of Velocity Dance Festival at the Sidney Harman Hall in DC; at Davis and Elkins College in WVA as part of their spring dance festival, and as part of an evening of work at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage. Choreography and performance by Jessie Laurita-Spanglet and Meredith Bove. Live sound by dancers with additional music by Mike Wall.
Ritual Cycle #1/Do This For The Remembrance of Me
Originally created in the fall and winter of 2014, this work has had three iterations and in various stages has been performed at the Baltimore Dance Project at UMBC, Dance Exchange Spring Salon, and as part of an evening of work at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.
